Project Co-ordinator II

Applicants should have/be (i) a Bachelor’s degree; (ii) a registered social worker in Hong Kong; (iii) at least 2 years’ work experience in children-related activities; (iv) a good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (proficiency in Putonghua will be advantageous); (v) proficiency in using MS office applications; and (vi) good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, in particular the ability to communicate with children, youth or parents. Experiences in children and family counselling will be advantageous.  The appointee will work for patient-care society comprising patients, parents and health-care professionals.  Duties include (a) planning and developing coherent children cancer-related projects/programmes for patients and their parents, such as support groups, parents-support-parents and patients-follow-up programmes, (b) conducting regular ward visits and tea parties as well as the individual visits for patients and their parents; (c) coping with or following up the personal or psychological issues of patients and their parents; and (d) implementing other related activities/classes for patients and their parents.  The appointee will work at the Lady Pao Children’s Cancer Centre and the Home of the Little Life Warriors in the Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin and may be required to work outside office hours, including public holidays and weekends. Appointment will be made on a 1-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
